Tips on Pro DJing & Proper Mixing:
The Right Music for the Right SituationSelect music that fits the mood of the event or situation. The music the user personally enjoys may not necessarily be the right answer for a group of people your DJing for. |
Cue Music and Mix like a ProCueing music and mixing like a Pro used to be a highly coveted secret. With Umixx not anymore. Cue or start new music when you have either the chorus of the current song playing or when there is a break in the current song and all you hear is the drum track and no vocals. Knowing these optimal cue points is also called “Knowing Your Music” by Pro DJs. A train wreck in DJing is mixing two songs that have tempos that are off or your not mixing during drum track breaks or chorus. |
SPB Tempo MeasurementSelect music that works well together by tempo in SPBs. If the user’s playlist contains music from different styles, as long as they match by tempo, the user can group the music together. If they do not match by tempo there is a high probability that the mix will be a train wreck. Rock tunes could possibly mix with Dance Music if is determined by our Mixx Engine calculation of SPB tempo measurement. |
Maintain TempoMaintain the tempo sequence of your mix by ordering your playlist so that the SPBs changes gradually. Umixx automatically does this for your music in Record Flow. Pro DJs will begin mixing with higher energy faster tempo music and end the mix with slower tempo lower energy music to maintain the proper experience. |
